Welcome to the 7th Annual UX Fair, an entire day jam-packed with UX goodness. This event is for students, career changers, and UX professionals new to the field who want to network with others. We will have thought leaders on hand to provide mentoring and career guidance throughout the afternoon. Join us for a chance to hobnob with UX unicorns and other celebrities.

Dan Shilov is a Silicon Valley-based product designer with over a decade of experience creating products for consumer and enterprise companies across web, mobile, and wearable platforms. When he’s not hard at work pushing pixels, he mentors designers and speaks at local design organizations. Throughout his career he interviewed countless designers and design managers and saw them struggle through various parts of the interviewing process. To address these concerns, he wrote, Land Your Dream Design Job, a guide to help UX designers put their best foot forward in order to get that ideal role. Dan holds a Master’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction from Carnegie Mellon University.
Maliheh (Mali) Aghanasiri is a mixed-methods user researcher. Through UX research and design consultations, she helps businesses identify and prioritize opportunities to transform their customer experiences. Currently, Mali is a Principal User Researcher at Liberty Mutual Insurance. Before joining Liberty Mutual, she worked at the User Experience Center at Bentley University, Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, Livewell Collaborative, and Sepinood Design Studio. Mali graduated from Bentley University’s Master’s program in Human Factors in Information Design in 2017.
Shanae Chapman is a Senior UX Designer, UX Adjunct Professor and Founder of Nerdy Diva. Her career trajectory includes enterprise companies such as Boeing, IBM, RedHat, The MathWorks, and Akamai. She has taught UX and Web Development at Lesley University, Northeastern University, Maryville University, and Fisher College. Her business, Nerdy Diva, focuses on applying enterprise level UX in creating more diverse and inclusive products, services, and workplaces. Neeta Goplani is the Head of Experience Design at John Hancock/ Manulife, leading a team of UX designers, graphic designers and user researchers – or problem solvers as she calls them. In her previous life, she was a VP of Experience Design at DigitasLbi, a digital marketing agency, where she and her team of unicorns developed digital solutions for clients
Christopher S. LaRoche (Moderator) works as a Senior User Experience Consultant at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). His works focuses on researching and evaluating the accessibility and usability of websites and software. His interest also includes promoting inclusive design. He has worked as a technical writer, information designer, user researcher, and consultant in his career. Additionally, Chris is a Senior Lecturer at the College of Professional Studies (CPS) at Northeastern University, where he has taught for seventeen years. He teaches a wide range of graduate courses in user experience. Chris has an MA in Irish history from Trinity College and an MS in Human Factors from Bentley University.
James McElroy is Director, Pharmacy UX Strategy & Design, at CVS Health.

How to attend remotely
Anybody registered for the event will receive an email with a link to details on how to join the online meeting. Only individuals registered for the event will be able to join the meeting. You are highly encouraged to register with the email associated with your Eventbrite account; doing so will make your access to the event link easier.
All attendees are encouraged to remain on “mute” during the event, except when called on to ask a question or during open discussion/networking time.
