Challenges with the Curated User Expierence

Synacor enables its customers to deliver personalized, curated, and relevant experiences to their consumers on all digital devices. “Curated” means we bring together the consumer’s media regardless of source. For example, with video content, the consumer might have access to Netflix, Hulu, iTines, Xfinity, and Vudu. Synacor allows consumers to search and discover content across all these services. However, when the consumer goes to consume the discovered content they are immersed in the experience of the delivering service. Since these services may be delivered as apps (if on tablets or smartphones) or web experiences (if on tablets or PCs), our biggest challenge is not just ensuring a consistent customer experience but, more importantly, measuring customer delight across all these experiences.

In this talk, Jake and Tom will share their experiences with this curated challenge of user experience. Some of these challenges are addressed in Synacor’s PowerPlay product, which was released in April 2014.
