These guidelines apply to all UXPA events, as well as on social media and in online communications. If you break these rules, we may ask you to leave the event or online community.

Be nice.

Treat others with respect. Act with integrity. Don’t forget that you’re in a professional setting.

Be inclusive.

Don’t discriminate against anyone, for any reason, including race, gender, age, appearance, or sexual orientation. Welcome and mentor newbies. Be open to perspectives different from your own.

Don’t be a jerk.

Do not badmouth or harass your peers. Respect boundaries and privacy. Examples of harassment include offensive comments, verbal threats or demands, intimidation, stalking, harassing photography or recording, disruption of sessions or events, unwelcome physical contact or sexual attention, and sexual or violent imagery.

Don’t audio record without permission (It is illegal in Massachusetts).

Work it out.

Seek to resolve conflict in a respectful and calm manner.

If you feel unsafe, harassed, or threatened, find the nearest UXPA Boston Board member, volunteer, or staff member immediately. We’ll work with you to address the issue, including contacting security or law enforcement if needed.
