As UX becomes a more valued resource within an organization, what are the tools that we need to successfully begin and drive a project? Many organizations are seeing the benefits of including User Experience professionals in the software development lifecycle. How do we engage our organizational counterparts such as software engineers and business analysts to adopt a user centered design approach? How can UX professionals reach alignment with stakeholders and help drive successful projects forward, without sacrificing the needs of the user?
Presentation: “All Aboard! Keeping UX on Track at athenahealth”
Brian Manning, Senior Manager, User Experience Design at athenahealth
The evening will begin by looking at a project focused on improving athenahealth’s client onboarding experience. You’ll hear about 3 common UX challenges – setting a vision, aligning on a solution, and course correcting during execution – and the techniques used to overcome them.
Brian Manning is a Senior Manager on the User Experience Design team at athenahealth, where he applies his 15 years of experience in interface design, usability, and strategy to creating solutions that seamlessly meet both business and user goals. Brian has spent the last year focusing on improving athenahealth’s client onboarding experience. Prior to joining athenahealth, Brian held senior positions on the User Experience teams at RSA, Fidelity, and Roundarch Isobar (formerly Molecular). An avid Boston sports fan, Brian started his career in television, working for Fox Sports.
